There will be some brotherhood involved in the selections otherwise it wouldn’t happen. Besides, football driving the bus in this and VT is well within top 10 ACC in the regard.

Here are the schools I’d guess would be on the cut line:

Wake: small, three other NC schools, poor football. Only one of originals to be outed.

Louisville: already have state with UK. Academics. Scandals. Nothing special in football.

Pitt: state is run by PSU and poor fanbase. Wouldn’t be a benefit to B1G picking up as it would do little for them.

Syracuse/BC: outposts with small football fanbases.

ESPN would OWN Virginia down the coast to Florida, over to Texas, and west coast. ND would be affiliated to grab national interest including northeast.
